Quicksand of Questions

There are so many choices to be made.  An infinite pool of possibilities.  The majority of these choices never enter our conscious mind.  The first thing you do when you wake, what you eat, what you throw in the trash, how you spend the wasted hours of the day.  Most of these are quick decisions that garner only a few mere moments of thought.  But they all have consequences, even if we do not see them.  Maybe they don't effect you personally, but they have an impact on someone or something elsewhere.  Why is it that we neglect our contemplative nature?  Perhaps because life is easier and moves faster, if we don't question.
It is near impossible to have a truly withdrawn perspective on oneself.  But does this mean we should not try?  I am constantly in conflict with my immediate self and the man I aspire to be.  At times I am petty, jealous, cynical, depressive... other times I can be altruistic, sympathetic, and open to what I am dealt.  On my good days, I understand that life is a gift, something to be reveled in and enjoyed to its fullest.  In order for my second self to triumph, I must question my own thoughts regularly.  Our beliefs and perception of the world are often false and can lead us into negative realities.  There NEEDS to be clarity.
Most people lack an optical literacy.  What I mean by this, is an ability to see beyond erroneous imagery.  To cut past the reality that history's author has manufactured.  There is a world that no one has captured, an underlying truth.  Those who pursue this truth are often put to death for their efforts.  The closest I can figure is this; care for others, care for the earth, care for future generations.  Enjoy the minute details of everyday; moments of silence or empty spaces.  It will help you to see the big picture.
Writing from the trenches of my mind,
Josh Optics.
